 Sundance recap:

Sundance ended on a good note both for the festival and for me. A bunch of awards were given out Saturday night but the one I hope the most people pay attention to is the Audience award for Best Documentary. Audience awards in general are the only ones I care about because fans pick. This year BUCK won. Buck is the documentary about the guy who The Horse Whisperer is based on. Buck Brannaman trains horses like people should be trained to treat each other. Go see Buck.

Personally my final few days were rough til Friday night. Understand this about Sundance, they front load the festival with all of the movies. Wednesday and Thursday are a ghost town if you're looking to meet celebs. Literally I saw 5 stars both days combined including Robert Redford but he doesn't stop for fans. Ever. The final Friday of the festival they give us one big star studded premiere. This year it was Son of No One with Channing Tatum, Katie Holmes, Ray Liotta and Al Pacino. Al never showed but the other 3 did. Katie never stopped but Channing and his actress wife did and they were AWESOME!

Just after that one Sundance had a bonus final film (usually they don't do this but man was I glad they did) with Patrick Dempsey called Flypaper. Patrick showed up took bunches of pics, welcomed the audience and didn't stay for the Q and A after. Flypaper is this generations CLUE. It was wall to wall funny. If they could have left out the "F" word it would be a PG-13 max but Hollywood loves unnecessary profanity.

My biggest celeb gets this year were Ashton, Demi, Patrick Dempsey, Channing Tatum, Andie Macdowell, James Franco and Rita Wilson. My favorite to talk to were Nick Kroll, Rutger Hauer, Maria Menunos, Fred Stoller, Danny Glover, Rob Lowe, Jeremy Piven and Buck Brannaman.

Everyone asks me who the biggest jerk was and this year it was EASY to say Alan Arkin. He's a crabby old man who never plays a happy person because he's not one.

Ok well until next year GO SEE BUCK.

Sundance 2011 part 1

So I've been asked to share my thoughts on Sundance 2011 which is just 2 weeks away!!!

The quality of films seems good but no one goes to my website for my opinions on QUALITY of films (keeping in mind my top 3 films are Bye Bye Love, You've Got Mail and Anchorman) but rather THE STARS!

So here are some of the stars who will be at Sundance THIS YEAR:

Ed Helms returns to Sundance which is cool since the last time he came I missed the chance to say something I wanted to say but forgot. I've been practicing too... Hey Ed, Beer me a picture with ya?

He's in Cedar Rapids with Anne Heche, Sigourney Weaver, Alia Shawkat (Maebe Funke!!) and The 2 time winner of my BIGGEST JERK OF SUNDANCE award... John C Reilly.

I've never met Tobey Maguire but I will this year. He's in The Details with Elizabeth Banks who I once saw but never got a pic with. Ray Liotta, Dennis Haysbert Kerry Washington and Laura Linney are also in the cast.

Speaking of Elizabeth Banks she has 2 films this year. The other is with Paul Rudd, Zooey Deschanel and Emily Mortimer... I've met them all before.

Greg Kinnear who again pic of but not really with is in The convincer with Alan Arkin and Billy Cruddup who I think will remember me. The last time I saw him I proposed to Mandy Moore. He was there.

JK Simmons (The dad from Juno) is in a movie with Lou Taylor Pucci... whose dad I've been talking to on facebook so I'm excited to meet LTP.

Jeffrey Tambor from Arrested Developement will make the 5th cast member I've met if I meet him this year. My goal is to meet the ENTIRE cast of A.D. which is one of my top 4 favorite TV shows ever (Ed, Sports Night, The Office are the other 3). Old school J.T. is in Win Win with Paul Giamatti, Amy Ryan and Bobby Cannavale.

There are some people who we assume will be there by association to some of this years films:

Chaz Bonos mom is Cher... so I'm hoping to get a pic with her at the premiere of the film about her daughter turned son.

The Troubadours is a documentary featuring James Taylor and Carole King with lots of legends interviewed. James Taylor is on my list to meet.

There's a documentary about powerful women with people like Katie Couric, Condoleeza Rice, Nancy Pelozzi and others. Condie Rice is speaking at BYU 3 days before so it looks like I'll meet her.

TJ Miller (Gulliver's Travels and Yogi Bear) is one of the funniest people alive and even though he has yet to add me on facebook doesn't mean I'm not crazy stoked to meet him at his short film "I'm having a difficult time killing my parents".

So there's a bunch more I'll tell you about when I do part 2.

Time to blog

So I haven't been the best at blogging but I do have some things to update in my life.

I am one year away from graduating. If I'm uber awesome I can do it by Dec. Otherwise it will be a year from now. My goal is still to be a celeb interviewer and then move on to hosting my own radio show while producing some TV shows I want to make.

Since I last blogged I came in as first runner up in the Mr UVU pagent and won $200!!!

And the final thing to mention:

I've now reached the 30 mark with girls I've kissed. I really regret not writing down their names over the years but I've had an un official tally in the back of my mind and I feel fairly confident that I'm up to 30. I know that's a slow weekend for some people and for others I'm a lip slut but I feel good about it. This also includes make outs. I'd say 2/3 were make outs... if a girl is willing to kiss me a tiny bit she's likely willing to spend 2 more minutes.... she came that far, why not spend a lil more time?!?!

The Mormon Bachelor?

So tonight I came home from work and watched "The Bachelor... On the wings of love" and I can't help but think that I'm a six pack of abs away from being perfect for that show.

If they let me be the guy would I get a full 25 girls or would they send me 18 and a midget? What kind of girl would they set me up with? Like do they have paper you fill out saying what you want in a girl? Would they let me write in a few girls I like that I think are single and let the casting people track them down?

Could I chose the song we call my season by? Instead of "On the wings of love" maybe it could be "Somebody" by Depeche Mode or "Saving forever for you" by Shanice? "Like a virgin" seems like the obvious title.

Could I take a girl on a date and have the missionaries teach the final 3 girls a first discussion and base my decision on who would be baptized?

If I was one of 25 guys going for the girl and I knew I was about to be cut could I punch someone? It seems like people who punch other people on reality TV never get sent to jail and the last time I was punched was in 7th grade by Chad Graves and I never hit him back.

If someone nominates me for the show I will accept the nomination.
